If you want to recommend a panel or image from a recent piece of artwork, feel free to do so.  I’ll be adding more prints soon.  Right now there’s a lot of 4 x 6s and books.

Where the Updates Are

By admin on October 14th, 2009
Posted In: Blog

Updates for the rest of the week did not go up due to the work I did to move the site around and such.  (NOTE that there will be a comic showing on cyantian.net again at some point in the future.)

Right now, I just need to ink two pages to be on track for normal, BUT – notice the BIG but  – I was at Children’s hospital in Dallas last night from 1 to after 7 with Kim.  She began running a really high fever, most likely over 104.1, which is the best we could record on the thermometer due to her shaking and coughing.  With her history – we thought it best to go to Children’s ER and get her looked at.  Kim ALSO stayed up the entire night along with my husband.

So, she has Swine Flu AND Pneumonia.  She was released this morning to be watched with certain conditions of taking her back if things get worse.  Right now, as I’m typing this, she has a fever again and I’m watching it.

Ad Free Surfing / Membership Subscription

By admin on October 10th, 2009
Posted In: Blog

You’ll notice some small issues in the site at the moment with the images.  That’s due to a new comicpress manager and widgets AND most importantly – Frumph who made a widget just for me. :D   Well.. he’s made several widgets here just for me and helped me with all of this.

So NOW – I can offer AD FREE READING for all of Cyantian.net for the introductory rate of $5 for three months!  (Yes, you can stack that for $5 each additional three months.)  That will cover ALL of Cyantian.net.  No more ads!  Should speed up the time and if you offer me suggestions on some membership only things you’d like, I might just do them.  I’m going to try to think of something, but not too much.  I really feel bad about offering things behind a pay gate that aren’t available to the general reader – but am fine with putting up stuff that’s from the books.

These are the things you need to do:

Create an account here.

Use paypal, send me a check, a gift card or something that has $5 on it.  Use the donation chipin on the left side of the page if need be.  NOTE your login name.  I will send you an email back after I’ve activated your account with the expiration date.

Login when you visit the site – no more ads!  Fewer worries for me!  No more stupid layer ads driving you and me nuts!  (I still have to surf with the ads on, mind you. :P   I’m fine making that sacrifice because it’s easier for me to see if there’s a problem for the non members.)

BETTER!

By admin on October 10th, 2009

Thank you for your patience.  You’ll notice a new link on the right for Akaelae which goes to its own subsite.  It had a cost associated with it, but it’s done and I’m pleased.. now I need to delete all the extra posts in here and I’ll be done with Cyantian.net.

I need to eat now. :P   It’s almost 1 here and I haven’t had anything since last night.

The Comic IS Updating

By admin on October 9th, 2009
Posted In: Blog

You’ll have to click the comic image on the right that says: Latest Comic.  If you hover your mouse over it, it’ll go even further and give you the date so you can see exactly when the last update was.  There IS a hidden method to bookmark a url that will show you the most current comic, but you must pass a test first.

(Would it be easier to see if it were on the LEFT side?)

The reason the comic has moved is 1.  People who ask me questions about stuff that’s IN the very page they’re asking me questions about. and 2.  Advertising companies are fickle and advertising is what’s paying my bills.  I didn’t do it to increase pageviews.  I did it so my site is not mistaken for a comic site without contextual content.  Yes, it’s obviously NOT, but as I just said… advertisers are fickle.  I’d rather not risk getting removed because they think I only have images on my site and am removing that impression entirely.

It is possible that the comic can return to the index page, but only if I’m comfortable with it.  Personally – I PREFER the comic on the index page, but this is better than the comic stopping updating, which is what would happen if I lose another advertiser.  Losing one was bad enough.  (I’m still awaiting a real explanation on that one. 9.9  I think they just wanted to keep my earnings. )

Now, I DO think I might have a solution that I can implement on Cyantian.net that will make everyone happy.  Nobody here has complained and unlike on AD, I have the ability to create a separate directory just for Akaelae.  It’s honestly EASIER than creating a single page.  I don’t know how to create a single page to only show the most current comic.

Oh … and I AM trying to find that stupid green ad that keeps covering the entire screen.  I know the url and everything, I’m just having a difficult time getting it OFF my site.

Update:  Frumph is working on something that might help… I won’t know until I see it. :D
